Three island realities: (1) ferry reservations and travel time for crew and trucks, (2) barging or ferrying tons of material and hauling the old roof off-island to dispose of it, and (3) occasional overnight lodging when the ferry schedule won’t allow a same-day return. An honest island quote prices all of that up front. A mainland roofer who "forgets" it either under-delivers or hits you with change orders mid-job.
